ITRA daming reports slams Timeshare

ITRA Timeshare Report

A damming quote in the report named “Rise and Fall of Timeshare in Europe” is attributed to an unnamed speaker of the European Parliament where he criticised the industry as ‘Timeshare is a criminal industry.’

Some of the complaints received by ITRA from owners who feel they have been duped by a Timeshre company are;

  • High-pressure sales techniques promoters lure potential buyers with false "free holiday or weekend break" to get them in the resort, then employ high-pressure sales techniques with scripted sales pitches. They make it very difficult for visitors to leave and the sales pitch can go on for the best part of a day.

  • ·         False claims by promoters who will pitch the timeshare interval as an "investment." often supported by more false claims about resale markets that promise profits, "guaranteed" resale, by the developer who operates an their own in-house resale program.

  • ·         Fees to resell.  Often developers will promise to resell an interval for an upfront fee — which never results in a sale.
